From the Futurama episode "Attack of the Killer App," which aired on July 1st, 2010. In the episode, a made up company Mom Industries releases the eyePhone. Making fun of Apple's iPhone. When Fry is trying to buy one, the cashier responds warning him about the battery life and reception. The response: "shut up and take my money."

"Attack of the Killer App" is the third episode of the sixth season of Futurama. As a result of the release of the eyePhone, Fry posts a viral video of Leela on the internet. Fry's video is of a boil that Leela has. The boil, named Susan, sings show tunes. Leela is made fun of whereever she goes. Fry eventually hits one million followers.

In the end, Leela realizes that her humilation is old news and a new video has everyone's attention. She forgives Fry.

The following day, the German tech blog Crackajack published a post about the episode and included the image of Fry with the caption "shut up and take my money."

The meme received the most attention in mid-2012.

Meme Meaning

The meme is used on communities and social media to express an interest in purchasing a product or service. It is typically used to show excitement about purchasing a product. It is common on Reddit as a way to show interest and support for a new product. 

The image macro of Fry from Futurama has been replaced for other derivatives of the same topic, such as Luigi's 'shut up and take my coins' and Zelda's 'shut up and take my rupees.'
